Ryan Leslie - Transition
After only 9 months of debuting as a solo artist with the hot (classic in my opinion) self-titled album. Ryan Leslie has done it again with his sophomore album Transition. The album consist of eleven cuts and is great follow-up/companion to Leslie's debut album. My favorite tracks on the album aside from the lead single "You're Not My Girl" are Something That I Like feat. Pusha T of Clipse, All My Love, Guardian Angel, I Choose You, Nothin' and Sunday Night.

Drunk Woman Almost Run Over By Train
I am watching Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN and this was one of the topics. Man I am truly glad that I do not get smashed anymore. You never know what can happen at any given moment when you are not in control of your faculties.

Kenny Smith Jumps Over Aston Martin Parody
This is the second half of my nostalgic moment it's very hilarious. Kenny Smith of Inside the NBA on TNT (and former Houston Rockets point guard) makes this spoof of Kobe Bryant's Aston Martin jump.
Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind
I love New York don't get me wrong I am Jersey all the way but I love the Big Apple. Jay-Z's song and this video represents the city well, they even made Alicia Keys piano a representation of the Empire State. Jay-Z has proven New York to be so great that his songs have been the structure for many baseball songs about the New York Yankees and their rivals the Philadelphia Phillies.

Steven Seagal: Lawman
I am watching The First 48 on A&E and the trailer for Steven Seagal: Lawman came on during the commercial break. In this reality series Seagal who now holds a position as debuty sheriff in his current place of residence Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. I found this to be extremely hilarious I used to watch some of Seagal's films over a decade ago. I can imagine a criminal ready to get tough with the police as they arrive at the suspects house. The suspect talking slick behind a closed door opens the door to confront the cops and sees Steven Seagal. Suddenly the suspect is welcoming the sheriff's for some coffee and donuts. Steven Seagal: Lawman is scheduled to air on A&E sometime in December, check your local listings.

Dave Chappelle 2nd Appearance on Def Comedy Jam
Dave Chappelle is a funny man I wish he was still making us laugh on a mainstream scale. This clip is from Chappelle's second appearance on Def Comedy Jam. I would definitely put Dave in my top five comedians of all time list. Somebody give this man a show again and let him run it the way he wants to! Chappelle Show was one of the funniest sketch comedy series of all time if not the funniest.

Don't Sag Your Pant Kids
Justice posted this on her Facebook page and I had to share it with you. Very funny clip that had me rolling. Man I am glad that I got out of that sagging my pants stage (all 5 minutes of it). First off there's a terrible draft, you can't run without pulling them up anyway, you have to waddle to walk and some people don't even clean there asses or boxers correctly - heave. What's up with the guys buying those tight pants that can't even fit mid-thigh and try to pass that off as sagging?

SNL - Will Ferrell (Mr. Tarkanian Angry Boss Skit)
One of my favorite SNL skits, Will Ferrell portrays the angry boss Mr. Tarkanian with Pierce Brosnan as the prospective employee.
Drake feat. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem - Forever
Forever is a single off of the up-coming documentary "More Than a Game" (in theaters Oct. 2) about the great Lebron James rise to stardom. The song is represented by Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem all who themselves rose to stardom in the music industry just like James did with basketball (going straight from high school into the pros).

Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon: The End of Day
I went a little crazy on the iTunes Store this week. What can I say a few albums of artists that I enjoy and am curious about were at this time. I downloaded Kid Cudi's mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi" early last year and was highly impressed. Since that time I was eager to hear Cudder's debut album. My opportunity arrived when it hit stores on Sept. 15. Just as I felt Cudi's mixtape was a classic I share the same sentiment for his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. Kid Cudi is a sing song rapper (meaning he intertwines singing and rapping) who also incorporates Pop and Rock influences into his music. My favorite tracks are (aside from the singles) "Cudi Zone", "Sky Might Fall", "Heart of a Lion (Kid Cudi Theme Music)" and "Soundtrack 2 My Life".
Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3
I could not wait to purchase this album on the iTunes Store. Jay-Z continues to display his legendary status. The Blueprint 3 is not only another classic but shows how an emcee can mature from gangster rap. I pray that S. Carter never stops doing music as long as he is alive. I will listen to him rap at 80 years of age if it came down to that. My favorite songs on the album (other than the singles) are "A Star is Born feat. J. Cole", "Young Forever feat. Mr. Hudson", "Real As It Gets feat. Young Jeezy", and "On to the Next One produced by and feat. Swizz Beatz". Overall the Blueprint 3 is a GREAT ALBUM!

From Rapper to Doctor
Roxanne Shanté (born Lolita Shanté Gooden) grew up in the Queensbridge Housing Projects in Queens, New York. At the age of 14 she became a prominent member of the legendary hip hop group the Juice Crew. Along with Marley Marl and DJ Mr. Magic Shanté put out a song entitled Roxanne's Revenge. The song was an answer to UTFO's song entitled Roxanne Roxanne. Shanté put out 2 albums Bad Sister in 1989 and The Bitch is Back in 1992 before retiring at the age of 25. Shanté decided that she wanted to further her education to better her future. Unlike most artist Shanté had a clause in her recording contract that stipulated her record label would pay for her entire education. After some time of fighting with her record label to honor the contract Shanté was able to graduate from Cornell University with her doctorate in psychology. Allyson Felix Wins Third World Championship in the 200M
Allyson Felix of the USA once again defeats her rival Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica by winning the women's 200M race at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics held in Berlin. Felix ran a 22.02 while Campbell-Brown ran a 22.35. Felix's win gave her a third world championship gold medal in the 200M holding her as the only woman to ever accomplish that feat for that event.
USA Takes Silver and Gold in the 400M at the 2009 World Championships
LaShawn Merritt of the USA just eliminated the competition by winning the 400M race by .54 seconds at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics held in Berlin. Merritt ran a 44.06. Jeremy Wariner of the USA came in second place with a time of 44.60.
Usain Bolt New World Record Holder of the 100M & 200M
I know that I am days late with this post, however, greatness is etched in stone. Usain Bolt of Jamaica has done it again breaking two world records during the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Athletics held in Berlin. Anyone who follows track knows that these feats are extremely hard to accomplish. I wonder if Bolt has more strength, speed and stamina to surpass himself in the history books. I say this because he just turned 23 on August 21st.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini was such a mindblowing, touching story I am now a fan of the author. The compelling story of two women, their bliss and plight in Afghanistan is saddening. Although the novel is fictional many points are made at the way women are treated in comparison to men in other cultures. To imagine living in such squalor and fear of the unknown that plagues your city and inner dwelling is very frightening.
Andrea Bocelli - Con te Partiro (1997 Throwback)
I love this song. So soothing. The single is from Andrea Bocelli's 1995 album Bocelli. This video is from the 1997 performance on DVD entitled A Night in Tuscany.

Outkast - B.O.B. (2000 Throwback)
Outkast is one of the greatest groups ever. They can make you dance, bounce and vibe all with substance in their lyrics. Did I mention they do their own tracks and opened their own studio years ago. Intelligent.

the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
A friend recommended that I read the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I was captured by the story from the opening chapter. Khaled Hosseini's portrayal of Afghanistan before and after the entry of the Taliban is amazing. His direction of life through the native eyes of a young man dealing with his own iniquities, and trying to be the man his father loved is amazing. The novel is well written and I recommend this to everyone as it was recommended to me. I am going to read Hosseini's second novel now A Thousand Splendid Suns.

Raphael Saadiq - The Way I See It
I was introduced to this album by my boy. I always liked Raphael Saadiq back in the Tony! Toni! Toné! days. As a solo artist Saadiq continues to show his extreme talent album after album. Not to mention he is as great a producer as he is an artist. The Way I See It is inspired by the soul era which brought us many classics and structure for R&B of today. Raphael Saadiq hits the nail right on the head with this album by creating not only a classic in modern day music, but would have everyone and their momma's shaking back in the day as well.
On anther note I would love to see Raphael Saadiq and Ryan Leslie do a song together. I believe that would be a great record. Come on guys make it happen for us!

Paid & Live - All My Time feat. Lauryn Hill
Man Lauryn Hill is blessed with talent. Lauryn can sing, rap, write, produce and act. What can't this woman do? Too bad we have lost her as an artist. Everyone talks about what it would be like if all of our deceased artists were still alive. What about great artists who are alive that go on hiatus with no regard for applying their talents?
Wyclef Jean - Guantanamera feat. Celia Cruz & Lauryn Hill (1997 Throwback)
I love this song. When two genres collide even more beautiful music is born.

The Confiscated Lebron James Being Dunked On Tape
For those of you who haven't seen the dunk heard round the world, here it is. Personally I don't see what the big deal is it's something that is apart of the game. Being dunked on by anyone who can "dunk" is a highlight reel but that's it. Everyone blew this out of per-portion as if Lebron James career would be ended over this, well think again. Lebron James is the best in the game as far as I am concerned and if he adds 4-7 championship's to his resume then he will be the greatest. So get the laughs and jokes out of your system. I believe this event wouldn't have been as big hadn't Nike confiscated the tapes. What was the purpose of that anyway? LBJ GOT DUNKED ON!!! WHOOPDIE FREAKING DOO!
